Blog#1 Hockey club

Kaori Motoda

Hello everyone.
Today, I would like to introduce about my club.

I am in field hockey club at this school, doing a manager, but I think most of the people don't know much about field hockey.I didn't know anything about it either.
If you could imagine ice hockey, the main difference is that you do it in the field, and the rule is almost the same as soccer.

It has been about 5 months for being a manager at this club, and I am starting to get used to it little by little.
Not only giving them drinks or towels, managers takes video, make ice bags, tape up their legs when someone sprained their ankles, gather the balls, records scores, etc.
We work for the players to do the practice smoothly as possible.

Our team are consisted of 21 players and 10 managers, so it is not a big team, but everyone in this club are so friendly and nice, that even it was difficult to remember all the things about field hockey and the jobs at first, I was able to enjoy every time during the club.

Now, the players are practicing really hard for the upcoming league game on this Saturday.
We are in the first division, which means we are in top 8 at universities in the Kanto area, that every opposing teams are very good hockey players, but I really really want our team to win at least once.
Please hope us good luck!

See you again.

  1. I enjoyed reading your blog because I was interested in field hockey for a long time. I was not aware of the exact rules, but your explanation was easy to follow. I also love your picture. The rainbow gives a beautiful touch.

    Good luck on the game!

  3. The total managers is half of the players. This must be a well managed club! How often do you join the club activity? What makes it fun for you?
And is it a girls team or a boys team?
    Please tell us more.

  4. Ms.MacGregor,

    Thank you for the comment.

I am in the boy's hockey team, and we are doing the club 6 days a week, but managers joins the club about 2~3 days in a shift. Only 3 managers joins the practice at a time.
Not only that I like sports and it is very interesting to watch the players growing their skills, the club goes on in a very good mood and they know when to practice seriously and when to play. That is what I like about this club, and we are very happy when the players gets an good results in the match.
